WIN-WIN PARENTING

What we do

Our goal

By 2044 to have enabled a billion children living in countries around the world to enjoy the support of committed informed parents who raise them to become confident, self-reliant individuals who will succeed in future life, escape a life in poverty and enjoy middle-class lifestyles.

We can train you to present win-Win Parenting Programmes to transform families, the lives of children and entire communities

We can help you transform your family, the lives of hundreds if not thousands of children and your community by empowering parents to create cohesive harmonious home environments in which children find a haven; all family members treat each other with respect and consideration, and parents become confident in their parenting.

Africans have a saying that “It takes a village to raise a child”. When you present the Win-Win Parenting Skills Training Programme to parents of children at your school, in your church, mosque or temple or in your community, you gain the power to transform hundreds of lives and potentially transform your school, village or community.

Why this Programme is a winner

Most parents copy the parenting skills and styles used by their parents – or do the opposite. Not exactly the best way to raise children in the 21st century!

Up to now there has been no shop at which parents could buy highly effective parenting skills.

Now there is – right here.

We can train you and your colleagues

  • How to train teachers, religious and community leaders to present the Win-Win Parenting Programme to groups of parents;
  • How to train groups of parents in your community church, school, etc.

Parents who attend the parent training workshops you run will learn 12 practical skills. They will learn how to parent children who are cheeky, have joined a gang, are carrying a knife, refuse to do homework and observe boundaries their parents set, etc.

More importantly, they will learn how to reinvent their home to become a harmonious haven where all family members feel respected and are able to contribute to the way in which the family operates. This empowers parents and enables all children to feel important in their own homes.

Through Win-Win Parenting parents will learn cutting edge practical parenting skills needed by every parent in the 21st century.

Win-Win Parenting Skills Training Programme is an accredited programme, which has been attended by the parents of over 200,000 children, has a proven track record of making a significant impact on harmonious family life, entire communities and to enable parents raise their children to be confident, self-reliant individuals who will succeed in future life.

It also teaches parents the importance of talking up education in the home, ensuring children attend school and do homework every day, don’t drop out of school/remain in school until they matriculate, participate in daily reading with each child, how and why they should become fully involved in the education of their children and why, when the child complains about his/her teacher, they should not automatically take the side of their child but to first consult the teacher to find out what is really going on.

When teachers present the Programme at their schools they build respect for teachers and build relationships between teachers and parents.

Many religious leaders have discovered that the practical skills contained in the Win-Win Parenting Skills Programme, such as the four steps in praising, provide them with excellent stories and lessons to use in sermons.

In addition, when religious leaders visit homes of their congregants, they reinforce the parenting skills they taught and these consequently become habitual in many families thus changing the culture and values of  entire communities.

The final reason that this programme is a winner is because you will love presenting it to parents.

Success Stories

Transforming family life and communities

In 2016 the police commander of the Sasolburg district in South Africa phoned Pastor Thando Nkosi who had arranged the training of pastors from 74 congregations to be trained to present the Win-Win Parenting Skills Programme in the Refengkgotso township during 2014/15. The Commander told Pastor Nkosi that since parent training had been completed call-outs to family violence were more than 50% down on 2014 and was still down below 50% in 2016.

A survey of 299 parents in Refengkgotso was immediately undertaken to discover how application of the parenting skills taught had impacted on the lives of parents and their children. The report knocked our socks off.

The survey revealed that parents have adopted the values discussed and parenting skills taught. In their day to day lives they have replaced family violence and verbal abuse with considered communication; dislike or contempt for their children with understanding and love; dysfunctional family life with loving family life. International demand for the Win-Win Parenting Skills Programme

Individuals and organisations in several developing countries have approached us to train them to present the Win-Win Parenting Skills Training Programme in their countries. Sadly, none have the money to fund the Programme. We have referred their requests to the Billion Child Foundation which is attempting to raise the necessary funds.

The Programme is currently being presented in Ghana and South Africa.
