9 July, 2019. Between March and June pastors trained by pastors who live in Langa trained 3,192 parents in that township which is 8km from the Cape Town city centre. It is one of the most dangerous townships in South Africa.
Based on a report by a SA Police Services commander who reported a decline of 50% in callouts to family and gender based violence 71 pastors trained parents in Refengkgotso township, it is expected that this intervention will see most parents implementing the practical skills taught and that a significant decline in police callouts to family and gender violence will be experienced.
